We also offer the opportunity to do something different with Rock Climbing, Kayaking, Canoeing, SUP and Mountain Biking. Additional to the above we run a number of First Aid courses and Basic Bike Maintenance courses, since Feb 22 we are Activity Approved Providers for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. The Sandstone Way

The Sandstone Way is a new 120 mile / 193 km mountain bike route in Northumberland between Berwick upon Tweed and Hexham along a sandstone ridge in North Northumberland and linking numerous sandstone features, crags and outcrops. It heads into the unexplored interior of Northumberland and the National Park, before finishing in style on the banks of the River Tyne at Hexham.

The Star Inn

Located on The Sandstone Way and Pennine Cycleway (NCN 68), The Star Inn is a traditional country pub with a wood fired pizzeria, village shop and tourist information centre in the picturesque village of Harbottle in the Northumberland National Park. The pub has a large courtyard with seating and is walker and cyclist friendly, and welcomes families and dogs. Hot drinks are available and there is a good range of homemade flapjacks/cakes, chocolate bars, crisps, fruit and soft drinks.
