The Queens Head is a family run inn and has been in the same hands since 2001. Noted for its substantial home cooked meals using the best local and seasonal produce. We are located in the centre of Rothbury an ideal overnight stop on The Sandstone Way. We are cyclist and walker friendly.

Coquet Valley. Centrally placed in the village and within one minutes walk of the river, guests have full use of the two dining rooms, bar lounge and games room.
Our Accommodation comprises of: 3 twins and 4 doubles all en-suite. Family accommodation available. Travel cot provided on request. Private lounge, Private car park. Free WIFI in the bar area.
All of our rooms are designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible with pocket sprung mattresses, en-suite facilities, central heating, flat scren colour televisions with inbuilt DVD playerc, tea/coffee, hospitality trays with biscuits, hairdryers and electric shaver points. All of our rooms are non-smoking. We have accreditation from Visit England for walkers and cyclists with a cycle rack in our private yard. The Queens Head is a family run pub and has been in the same hands since 2001. Situated in Rothbury in the Heart of Northumberland it was built in 1792 and originally known as the Golden Fleece.
The name was changed to The Queens Head to commemorate the accession of Queen Victoria to the throne in 1837. In 1877 the then proprietor, Mrs Temple, bought the old building next door and rebuilt it to extend
The Queens Head into a hotel and the ground floor still has the original lovely leaded windows.
Nowadays, classed as a 4 STAR Inn we hope to offer the same friendly welcome and level of service that has always been extended to visitors and locals alike in our well loved hostelry.
