Planetary 14 Bikes is a locally owned and independently run bicycle workshop which specialises in the supply and servicing of Rohloff 14 speed hub geared bicycles. As well as that, we carry out routine servicing and repairs on many types of standard bicycle and are also officially appointed Local Delivery Agents for Batribike and Powabyke electrically assisted bicycles. We collect from and deliver to your home or place of work at a time to suit you to make your life easier! Emergency breakdown service is available for tourists passing through the area. In excess of 25 years bicycle trade experience is your assurance of quality work.

We also carry out repairs and routine servicing of many types of standard bicycle. We have a well equipped workshop and carry stocks of commonly needed parts.
To make your life easier and so that you don’t waste your precious time, we will travel to your home or place of work to collect your bike then deliver it back once we’ve done the work. This is normally free of charge within the Berwick upon Tweed area but there may be a modest cost dependent upon your location.
Bicycles for repair or servicing will be inspected at the time of collection and an estimate of the cost of any work required will be given before any job is accepted.
As well as this, we have been officially appointed as Local Delivery Agents for Batribike and Powabyke electrically assisted bicycles. Any e-bike purchased directly from either of those companies (via their website) has the option to be sent to us. Upon receipt, we will unpackage and assemble it, charge the battery, road test the e-bike and, once we are satisfied it is up to our exacting standards, deliver it to you and give instruction as to how it all works including some maintenance tips. This is all included within the price you pay. Any warranty issues and future maintenance will be looked after by us.
We are generally available Monday to Friday, 10 am to 4pm, but also at other times by special arrangement.
Please note however, visits to the workshop are strictly by appointment only.
We are situated on or near ; NCN Route 1 Coast and Castles, NCN route 68 Pennine Cycleway North, NCN Route 76 Round the Forth, the Scottish Borders Loop and the northern end of The Sandstone Way.
For tourists suffering a mechanical breakdown whilst passing through the area, emergency ‘out of hours’ appointments are available. We will come to you and do what we can to get you back on your way but please realise that due to the complexity of many modern bicycles, it is impossible for us to hold stocks of every component we may ever need. Please note, for operational reasons, we must limit this service to within a 15 mile radius of Berwick upon Tweed.
We will try our best to answer any voicemail or email within an hour, but it depends on where we are and what we’re doing. Some places in North Northumberland don’t always have a phone signal…
