Northumberland Feather Down Farm, also known as Southfield Farm. There is masses to do and see in the area, and while we are not around the corner from anywhere, we think that is part of the appeal. Castles, puffins, dark skies, seals, beaches and lots of farm animals await you. Northumberland Farm lies less than a mile from the beach and only a 10 minute walk from the local pub in the North Northumberland AONB (Voted Best UK Holiday County of the Year at the 2018 British Travel Awards).

There is a host of visitor attractions on the doorstep including the huge breeding colonies of puffinsand seals on the Farne Islands as well as grand castles at Bamburgh, the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Dunstanburgh and Alnwick. The Douglas family have farmed in the area for many generations, traditionally in the Scottish Borders and then into England a hundred years ago or so. The farm is a traditional one with grassland supporting cattle and sheep alongside cereals such as wheat and barley.
Every Canvas Frills Lodge is furnished for a maximum of 6 people (max. 5 children and 1 child up to 12). There is a living space of 50m2. Our tents have hot and cold running water in the en suite shower and a cold tap in the kitchen and the loo. The kitchen is stocked with all the essential utensils so you will not need to bring anything from home. Our kitchens are also stocked with glamping essentials / camping luxuries such as a kettle on the stove, a French press, a large cool box for refrigeration and a coffee grinder to take care of the locally roasted beans from Pilgrim’s Coffee from the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. Each tent is supplied with freezer packs for your cool box, a washing up brush and tea towels. We will supply your tent with a starter pack of candles, loo paper, washing up liquid and a bin liner. If you run out of any of these essentials, don’t worry there are more supplies available 24/7 in The Pantry. You are also welcome to bring extra ice packs with you for the cool box, please make sure they are labelled when refreezing them overnight in The Pantry freezer.
