Ben started North East Cycleworks because of a love of cycling and a desire to offer a better service to those that love cycling too. Everyone has had poor service from traditional bike shops in one form or another, but we aim to change this by giving you the highest quality workmanship combined with the convenience of a pick-up and delivery service to suit your needs. We will pick up your bikes at a time to fit your schedule, from either your home or office, and we will drop your bikes right back to your door, again at a time that works for you. No more driving to a bike shop only to wait a week or more to get your bike back! We are happy to take the whole family’s bikes in one go, there’s plenty of room in the North East Cycleworks van for lots of bikes.
We only use CyTech qualified mechanics. This means that you will trust the quality of our work because our mechanics have passed the industry benchmark qualifications that teach them the best practice for maintaining your bike. All work is guaranteed for 3 months and we stand by the quality of our work.
Ben is CyTech 3 qualified which means that as well as all of the standard bicycle maintenance tasks, he can set up and fully service your expensive suspension, groupsets and braking systems as well as build complex, strong wheels to professional race standards, whatever your requirements.
North East Cycleworks can service and overhaul all sealed bearing hub systems including those from Tune, DT Swiss, Hope, Royce, Chris King and Phil Wood.
We are happy to work on Campagnolo, Shimano and SRAM components as well as all of the leading suspension systems from Fox Racing Shox, Rock Shox, BOS, DT Swiss and Marzocchi. We can maintain all braking systems too including those from Hope, Shimano, Avid, Formula and Hayes.
We offer free gear adjustments to our customers by appointment because we know that cables can stretch over time or bikes can take a knock in the garage and your gears can end up skipping. We are happy to show you how to do this yourself during the process and will always offer this for free to any Bronze, Silver or Gold service customer.
