5-star camping & glamping site located in an ideal spot in the shadow of Hadrian’s Wall, Northumberland. Herding Hill Farm is the closest site to the most complete section of Hadrian’s Wall and town of Haltwhistle. Close to Hadrian's Cycleway (NCN72), and Pennine Cycleway (NCN 68).
This dark sky friendly Northumberland campsite is beautifully set in an idyllic rural location just 1 mile from both Hadrian’s Wall and Haltwhistle, with the added advantage that the AD122 Hadrian’s Wall bus (which runs seasonally between Easter and October between Hexham and Haltwhistle) stops outside our gates. We are a 5-star site open all year. We offer 13 spacious level, hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up, 10 of the pitches also have waste and water. In addition, we have 10 tent pitches with electric and space for backpackers. For those who want something more luxurious we have a range of glamping pods, some with WC and private outdoor hot tub. Our luxury amenities block has underfloor heating with power showers and the ladies even have baths. There is a unisex sauna, drying and laundry room, secure undercover cycle store, motorhome service point, dish washing area, combined accessible/family bathroom with baby change facilities and a bath and new for 2021 an indoor camper’s kitchen and information room. We have an excellent children’s playground, along with various animals to enjoy in our petting farm. Children are welcome to help the wardens feed the animals. We have a small shop offering local Northumberland produce, including a fine selection of local beers and in season we offer tasty pizzas to takeaway and free delivery to your pitch.
